Product information

Opinel folding knife No.7 with a stainless steel blade and a khaki handle with a soot strap - a reliable and durable companion in various situations. This is the ideal Opinel knife for travel, picnics, barbecues, hiking or other outdoor activities. The quality of Opinel knives is ensured by a century of manufacturing and family business experience. Made in France.

FEATURES:

Blade

The blade length of the Opinel curved knife No. 8 is 8.5 cm. The blade, made of Sandvik modified 12C27 stainless steel adapted for Opinel knives, is famous for its extremely high quality and easy daily maintenance. The steel is hardened by heat treatment using martensitic hardening. The carbon content in such steel is not less than 0.40%, so the blade is of very high quality and resistant to corrosion.

The traditional Opinel blade is a yataghan-style blade. This shape was inspired by the curved point of a Turkish sword. The yataghan-style blade has a convex profile, which gives it strength and allows for multiple sharpening.

Handle

The handle is made of French hornbeam, which has a smooth texture with minimal grain that is perfect for painting. The handle is varnished to protect the wood from moisture and dirt. A thin leather strap is threaded into the handle. Color - khaki.

Virobloc safety ring
Opinel knife No. 8, like all other curved Opinel knives starting with No. 6, has the Virobloc safety ring invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. The Virobloc ring, cut from stainless steel, consists of two parts: a fixed and a sliding one. The blade is fixed both in the unfolded position (to ensure safety when using the knife) and in the folded position (to ensure safety when transporting the knife).
